The problem comes when the mind is influenced by external sources, such as other people, social media, marketing … very quickly our thoughts are no longer our own …

Meditation is a tool to strip back all of these external thoughts and bring us back to ourselves – I like to think of it as a way to press the reset button on our mind …

The problem for many though is that their minds are that busy with these thoughts that they can’t just sit, focus on the breath and let go – the ancient yogis appeared to understand this too – and so they created systems for preparing the mind and body for Meditation – this is where our Asana and Pranayama practice comes in …

Once the body and mind has been prepared for Meditation one can sit, focus on the breath and let go …

This preparation is an ongoing practice, the mind won’t stop being influenced by external sources, so we continue with our daily Asana and Pranayama practice, which then enables us to Meditate … if we can do this everyday we are pressing the reset button everyday – this prevents negative thoughts becoming imprints on our emotions/feelings and behaviours 🙏🏽🧘🏼‍♀️💖
